I may be running few miles, but some of them are pretty speedy.
I may be short on long runs, but I’m long on full, endurance-building workdays.
I may be short on help, but if I get up early enough I should be able to sneak away for a few hours.
I may not be in traditionally good shape for a 5K, but I think I may surprise myself.
I hope so.
This Sunday our local healthcare system in sponsoring an inaugural 5K in our town. As an avid runner it would be such a shame if I missed this event, just miles from my house.
It would probably help my 10 mile race training more if I took the time to run 10 miles instead of race a 5K, but no matter.
I’m doing this 5K, and I’m not just going to show up. I’m going to run until I can’t push my burning muscles any faster. It probably won’t be a PR effort, but it will be my best.
I opened a new box of Wave Riders a few weeks ago, so even my shoes are ready to go. 🙂
