Sisters are great…
Because they make driving 3 hours to be somewhere for 3 hours more than worth it.
Because slightly over-done shrimp tastes like 5 star quality when it’s loving cooked (and peeled and deveined!) in a kitchen full of sisters.
Because nothing makes you appreciate your husband or boyfriend like having them nicely put up with a “sister reunion” afternoon.
Because it’s insane the quantity of raw veggies (and bleu cheese dressing) a woman can eat while chatting and cooking.
Because birthday cake, sisters, and Sauvignon Blanc are a great combination.
Because even if you don’t see each other often enough, when you do get together, you always pick up right where you left off.
Because 3 sisters out of 5 being together is better than not gathering at all. (Yes, there are 5 of us.)
Happy birthday to a fabulous sister. Why do I always forget to take family pictures at these events?
Here’s my birthday sister & I on her wedding day this past summer.

It was definitely a cut back week on my long run, but after 3 weeks of increasing I think it was the right call.
After last week’s treadmill intensive running I’m happy to see I logged over half of these miles outside. Gotta take advantage of the nice weather as much as possible!
9 weeks until half marathon time…
